Step 1

  • Studio lighting and a top-down camera mount is setup for consistent quality and repeatability

  • The digital camera (Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR) is mounted

  • Physical artwork is captured digitally using the camera

  • The digitally captured art work is transferred to a physical hard drive (computer) and cloud based storage as redundancy for long term storage

Step 3

  • The individual files are manually edited using a graphics editor (GIMP) to correct the defects that might be present due to the wear and deterioration that has occurred over time

  • Some pieces requiring little to no editing with others requiring major restoration

Step 4

  • Files are saved and uploaded
